‘Reporting HIV/AIDS’ was part of the Masters in Journalism and Communication coursework at the Faculty of Journalism and Communications, Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. The course content included an examination of media approaches and responsibilities in reporting HIV and the portrayal of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) and marginalised risk groups. It explored issues of cultural and social opposition, as well as stigmatising language, and offers appropriate sources and resources, all in the Ethiopian context. It was designed to be flexibly formatted for delivery, either in the classroom or as a distance/online module.
